First Balfour was awarded the P980-million Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 structural restoration project by Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC).

A two-year undertaking, the scope of works includes the restoration and repair of faulty concrete and structural defects along the river bridges spanning one of the busiest railways in Metro Manila.

First Balfour also worked on the detailed design, installation and construction of parapets with noise-attenuating panels. The LRT Line 1 parapets, the low protective walls along the edge of the railway, were built in the 1980s and have shown wear and tear over the past years.

The Line 1 structural restoration project is the largest single contract awarded for the existing line.

Pieces of precast parapets: 6,500

Viaduct (both sides of Monumento to Baclaran): 24 km
