The contract, the first partnership between NGCP and First Balfour, calls for the construction of an additional network of transmission line towers in Bulacan, Pampanga and Bataan as part of NGCP’s Luzon 500-kV Backbone.
NGCP is undertaking a number of new backbone projects to assure the long-term adequacy and reliability of connection between the NGCP grid and power plants that will go online in the future.

The overhead transmission line is from the Hermosa 500kV Substation to San Jose 500kV Substation, consisting of 96 steel towers, double circuit, 4x410mm2 TACSR/AS conductor with optical ground wire (OPGW) on both side of tower peaks.
First Balfour handled the erection of overhead transmission line towers internally, while partnering with key subcontractors to handle the other essential components of the line.
