T1 Transport, First Balfour’s heavy equipment and sustainable people transport arm, has recently participated in two high-profile events that showcase the driving skills and commitment to fuel efficiency of its drivers. Both competitions underscored its focus on continuous improvement, safety, and environmental sustainability, while highlighting the exceptional performance of its drivers and operators.

UD Trucks Extra Mile Challenge
Hosted by Civic Merchandising, Inc., one of T1 Transport‘s long-time vendors, the UD Trucks Extra Mile Challenge held in San Rafael, Bulacan offered a platform for T1 Transport drivers Noli Gamba and Jimuel Supita to demonstrate their expertise in critical aspects of the trucking industry. These included challenges on vehicle readiness, operational efficiency, fuel efficiency, adherence to traffic rules, and transporting goods without damage.

Gamba (right in photo below), who has been with T1 Transport since 2019, secured an impressive 2nd place finish among 16 competitors after completing all the challenges.

Isuzu Eco-Drive Challenge
Meanwhile, tractor head driver Ariel Raspado also took part in the Isuzu Eco-Drive Challenge organized by another trusted vendor Isuzu Philippines, Inc. last September. This event was designed to improve fuel efficiency and raise awareness about the economic and environmental impacts of fuel consumption.

Raspado (rightmost in T1 Transport uniform in photo below) and the other T1 Transport tractor head drivers Joseph Martin and Renato De Guzman were trained in fuel-efficient driving techniques and effective vehicle maintenance through walk-around inspections. The challenge that came after provided real-time feedback on fuel consumption and encouraged participants to adopt more efficient driving habits.

Raspado’s exemplary performance earned him the title of Best Fuel Efficient Driver, further proving the value of our ongoing focus on sustainability and skill development.

T1 Transport Training and Development Lead Aaron Manaog shares, “At T1 Transport, we are inspired by the achievements of our drivers and the valuable insights gained from these competitions. By continuously enhancing our training programs, we aim to empower our drivers with the skills needed to deliver our services as well as excel in future competitions.”
