First Balfour Inc., the Lopez Group’s engineering and construction arm, hosted a special gathering for key business partners, clients, and distinguished guests to mark the company’s 55th founding anniversary — a feat that only a few local players have achieved. A subsidiary of First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH), First Balfour was organized in November 1969 originally as a power plant and design company, called the Philippine Engineering & Construction Corporation. Since then, First Balfour has grown into
one of the most respected players in the Philippine engineering and construction sector with a reputation for delivering complex and high-impact projects. These projects are testaments of First Balfour’s commitment and adherence to Lopez Group core values — a pioneering entrepreneurial spirit, business excellence, unity, nationalism, social justice, integrity, and concern for employee welfare and wellness — that have sustained the company’s growth and will serve as guiding light for its future endeavors.
