First Balfour, a pioneering construction and engineering company, once again partners with the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) through a Deed of Donation signed last July 28, 2014 for the training of public school teachers in the town of Burgos, Bangui and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
First Balfour’s donation of P450, 000.00 will enroll 45 teachers from 15 beneficiary schools in KCFI’s Learning Effectively through Enhanced Pedagogies or LEEP tranining program.
A brainchild of former Department of Education Secretary Dr. Fe A. Hidalgo, LEEP is geared towardsequipping teachers with the necessary skills to ensure that their teaching approaches, the environment they create and the technologies they use all result to effective learning. LEEP is aligned with the new K to 12 curriculum and integrates the use of Knowledge Channel programs in the teaching and learning process. Since its inception in 2013, LEEP has trained more than 2,000 teachers and principals from around 650 schools nationwide.
In 2013, First Balfour also partnered with KCFI by sponsoring the “Gift of Knowledge” which consists of educational television packages to Inawayan Elementary School and Binugao National High Schoolin Davao City.
