First Balfour partners with Knowledge Channel
First Balfour donated educational television packages from Knowledge Channel to the Inawayan Elementary School (IES) in Sta. In the turnover ceremony of the “Gift of Knowledge” held last January 25, First Balfour President & COO shares that, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, the company finds ways to foster good relations and help the communities where its projects are located. The site development of the Therma South, Inc. coal-fired power plant is one of the company’s ongoing projects and is located in Davao.
“This is a first of its kind in Sta. Cruz. We are the first recipient of Knowledge Channel’s educational TV package in Davao del Sur,” gladly shares IES Principal Enrique N. Amaro, Jr. BNHS student Jedidiah Daniel Herbilla, on the other hand, mentions his gratitude in his acceptance speech, “Our hearts are every much overwhelmed with gratefulness for your generosity.” The ceremony was graced by local officials, Department of Education representatives, and First Balfour and Knowledge Channel executives.
At present, more than 3 million students in around 2,500 schools all over the country have access to these educational television packages. With 18 million more children deprived of the Knowledge Channel, KFCI President & Executive Director Rina Lopez-Bautista encourages more companies and individuals to help them in their cause to improve the quality of instruction and education in the country.
